In this workshop series, Dr. Marcus Lorenzo Penn will have participants:
1) Guided thru a relaxing meditation incorporating natural imagery, colors, while activating the 5 senses and connect to their ‘photographic or walking prescription’.
2) Lead thru a gentle seated Self Care movement series to prepare and open their body and mind for photography or walk thru nature.
3) Taken out into natural surroundings to experience the vulnerability and openness of the photographic process or surrender to walk in nature.
4) Use their own digital cameras (or camera phone) to obtain images from their outdoor photographic or walking experience or simply use their visual memory without a camera.
5) Facilitated in a group wrap-up and reflection discussion of what was experienced and “seen” during their photographic experience or nature walk.

About the facilitator:
Marcus Lorenzo Penn, M.D. is a holistic physician by training, but a self-taught photographer by passion. He sees photography as a means of telling a story of community and life in its natural element. Also as a wellness consultant and certified yoga teacher, Dr. Penn brings vivid guided imagery meditations and movement inspired by his photography to enhance one’s connection to life and natural living.
For this daylong 'We-treat' participants will travel via car with the facilitator, Dr. Marcus Lorenzo Penn, to be immersed in local natural surroundings for outdoor meditation, movement, group discussions/sharing, walks/hikes, and mindful photography exploration. The retreat will go from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The We-treat includes:
*Only 4 max spaces available.
*Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle, light breakfast, lunch and snacks.
*Participants are encouraged to bring layers of clothing, sunscreen and an umbrella due to possible changing weather and temperature conditions.
*Participants are encouraged to bring a pen and journal to write in.
*Yoga mats and chairs will be provided as needed.
